The second part of the designing process was exploration into forming the metal.
I studied different fold forming techniques to create the samples shown above, and added granulation to some as a way of creating texture.
I enamelled some of these samples as I was intrigued to see how the enamel would change the look of the form.
I found that some forms worked well with enamel and others did not.
This was a valuable learning process for me as it helped me to understand the complexities of applying enamel to formed metal. This process also helped me to understand that some forms can stand on their own without a coat of enamel and can be beautiful in their simplicity.
